FreeSchools World Literacy-USA supports 28 FreeSchool centers in Bettiah and Motihari in Bihar, India, managed by Sr. Mary Crescence and the Fakirana Sisters Society. Children who normally work in the fields and take care of siblings learn to read and write after regular school hours on donated property. From one school in 2000 to 28 schools including tailoring centers in 2016, FreeSchools is growing.
